Compute

Compute.png

We offer a comprehensive portfolio of Compute and Storage for High-Performance Compute, AI/ML, Edge Compute and High Frequency trading. With rollout of 5G networks, the compute is moving to less traditional environments, so we help customers design their rollout with velocity that is not available by traditional cooling of IT gear. Our IT experts provide Data Center solutions which can save up to 50% of a corporate data center cooling costs.

AI/ML is Transforming Computing

Enterprises today are adopting artificial intelligence (AI/ML) to deliver cutting-edge products, increase operational efficiencies, and gain a competitive advantage. However, with constantly changing software, developing and deploying AI/ML at-scale is difficult, and requires a different approach to computing infrastructure - one that is only available through a small set of AI/ML pioneers. To be successful, enterprises need a modern, cohesive computing infrastructure - from the data center to the edge - that provides the functionality, performance, security, and scalability to run all AI/ML workloads.

The Enterprise Needs an Accelerated Hybrid Modern Cloud

At the same time, AI/ML itself is changing rapidly, driven primarily by:

An explosion of data generated by users, applications, and devices (Walmart processes 2.5 petabytes of data every hour).

An increase in the complexity and size of the AI/ML models required to build state-of-the-art AI/ML applications (3000X increase in computing resources from computer vision ResNet, five years ago, to conversational AI/ML Megatron-BERT, today).

The growing diversity of AI/ML workloads from data analytics to training to inference, and across models that differ widely in characteristics from RNN, CNN, MLP to RL etc., with demands for each changing throughout the day. AI/ML compute is needed in Edge, Fog and Cloud to accommodate the growth of amount of data being processed as well as needed to reduce the latency of design making.

Network traffic within the data center is also rising exponentially, which greatly affects data center infrastructure design. Secure, reliable, and high-speed networking is essential for moving the large amounts of data needed to accelerate AI/ML and data analytics, and coordinate between distributed computing elements. For mission-critical deployments, enterprises need to secure the data center network to protect valuable intellectual property and sensitive customer data.

The Open Compute Project

The Open Compute Project Foundation (OCP) was initiated in 2011 with a mission to apply the benefits of open source and open collaboration to hardware and rapidly increase the pace of innovation in, near and around the data center. Now celebrating our 10th anniversary, just wait till you see what we have planned for the next ten years!
